UNS N08366 AND UNS N08367

1.Scope

1.1 This specification covers UNS N08028 seamless cold-finisfd tubes intended for general corrosive service.

1.2 This specification covers outside diameter and average wall tube, or otside diameter and minimum wall tbe.

1.2.1 This specification covers tubes 5/8 to 5 in. (15.9 o 127 mm), inclusive, in outside diameter and 0.065 to 0.500 in. 9 1.65 to 12.70 mm), inclusive, in wall thickness.

NOTE 1 ? Tubing having other dimensions may be furnished spon agreeent between he manufacturer and the purchader, provided such tubes comply with all other requirements of this specification.

1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard.

AThese permissible variations in outside diameter apply only to material as finished at the mill before subsequent swaging,
expanding, bending, polishing, or other fabricating operations.
BOvality is the difference between themaximum and the minimumouside diameter measured at any one cross section.
There is no additional tolerance for ovality on material having a nominal wall thickness for more than 3% of the outside diameter.
On this material, the average of the maximum and the minimum ouside diameter measurements will fall within the ouside diameter
tolerance spreads shown in Table 3, applied ±1/2, is allowed for material having a nominal wall thickness of 3% or less of the
nominal ouside diameter.

TABLE4 PERMISSIBLE VARIATIONS IN LENGTHA

Outside Diameter, in.(mm) Cut Length, in.(mm)
Over Under
Under 2(50.8) 1/8(3.2) 0
2(50.8) and over 3/16(4.8) 0

ATHese permissible variations in length apply to pipe before bending.
They apply to cut lengths up to and including 24 ft(7.3m).
For lengths over 24 ft, an additional over-tolerance of 1/8in.(3.2mm) for each 10 ft (3.0m) or fraction thereof shall be permissible
up to a maximum additional over-tolerance of 1/2 in.(12.7mm).

Test Methods

13.1 Determine the chemical composition, mechanical, and other properties of the material as enumerated in this specification, in case of disagreement, in accordance with the following methods :

Test ASTM Designation
Chemical analysis E 354
Tension E 8
Rounding procedure E 29

For purposes of determining compliance with the specified limits for requirements of the properties listed in the following table, an observed value or a calculated values shall be rounded as indicated, in accordance with the rounding method of Practice E 29 :

Test Rounded Unit for Observed
or Calculated Value
Chemical composition and tolerances
(when expressed in decimals)
Nearest unit in the last right-hand place of figures of the specified limit. If two choces are possible, as when the digits dropped are exactly a 5 or a 5 followed only by zeros, choose the one ending in an even digit, with zero defined as an even digit.
Tensile strength, and yield strength Nearest 1000 psi (6.9 MPa)
Elongation Nearest 1%
