ASTM B-395 / ASME SB-395
SPECIFICATION FOR U-BEND SEAMLESS COPPER AND
COPPER ALLOY HEATEXCHANGER AND CONDENSER TUBES

1.Scope

1.1 This specification covers-end seamless condenser, evaporator, and heat exchange tubes od copper and
copper alloys up to 2 in., inclusive, in diameter.

Tubes for this application are normally made rom the following copper or copper alloys.

Copper Alloy UNS No.A Previously Used Designation Type of Metal
C10200 OFB oxygen-free without residual doxidants
C12000 DLPB phosphorized, low residual phosphoros
C12200 DHPB phosphorized, high residual phosphoros
C14200 DPAB phosphorized, aresenical
C19200 ... phosphorized, 1? iron
C23000 ... red brass
C44300 Types B. admirlty metals
C44400 C.
C44500 D
C60800 ... aluminum bronze
C68700 Type B aliuminum barss
C70600 ... 90-10 copper-nickel
C71000 ... 80-20 copper-nickel
C71500 ... 70-30 copper-nickel

AThe UNS system for copper and copper alloys (see Practice E 527) is a simple expansion of the former standard designation system accomplished b the addition of aprefix "C" and a suffix "00." The suffix can be usd to accmmodate compsition variations of the base alloy.

BDesignations listed in Classification B 224. 1.2 Warning ? Mercury is a definite health hazard in use and disposal. (See 12.1)
